Surveying of land was a crucial aspect for the settlement of South Australia. In the first century of South Australia, some 460 surveyors, surveyed the settled area, enabling agriculture to commence and the rest of the colony for pastoral activity. This talk will explore the role of surveyors in the colonisation of South Australia and some of their exploits.
