Tuesdays:       10 am to 12noon

Wednesdays:   2 pm to 4 pm

Other times:     By appointment (2 weeks' notice required and a visitors' fee of $10 is charged)

Research

Income derived from research fees are used to purchase additional records. All research is undertaken by Volunteers.

Source references will be included with replies (e.g. cemetery, school or passenger lists). You will be advised if any information is not available.

If appropriate, you may be referred to other organisations to further your research.

An up-front fee of $25 and a stamped self-addressed envelope for the reply is required. Full details of what you are specifically looking for should be included on your request form.

Local History Room

What you can find on the computers?

County Daly: Births / Deaths / Marriage Indexes (not in family group order).

Sample: Births Index for Smith, Jane 43/3768 = indicates record can be found in Book 43, Certificate 3768. Note: this information can only be copied by hand. 

Available during library opening hours.

South Australia: Births and Marriage Indexes. Catalogue includes CD record collection*.

Microfiche

There are several microfiche readers in the Local History Room. It is recommended that you leave the reader turned on until the end of your research. 

Access to Records

Microfiche and CD Collections are stored in a locked cupboard. Access is only available to members holding a current membership card. A catalogue of records is available for perusal. 

* Computer printouts and photocopying incur a cost of $0.20 per page - paid to the library staff.
