Becoming a Society member offers a host of benefits. Not only do you get access to a large and comprehensive selection of databases, indexes and other resources but our friendly volunteer staff can offer helpful advice and assistance with your research.

Below is a list of many of the benefits our members receive:

  • Full access at the Library to the comprehensive collection of family history indexes and databases, books, CDs and other reference material, together with helpful advice and assistance from the volunteer library assistants

  • Free access at the Library to major subscription websites including Ancestry, FindmypastThe Genealogist and the British Newspapers, via the Library Computers on site at 201 Unley Rd, Unley.

  • 2 hours free research annually available to members living more than 100km from Unley, or those unable to attend for disability/mobility reasons

Membership fees from 1 January 2017 are $95.00 for 12 months, plus a one-off joining fee of $22.00, as required by our Constitution. An Associate membership is available to a person living in the same premises as the full member, for half the above fee plus an $11.00 joining fee. Associate memberships are currently not availlable through the website, but enquiries can be made to the membership officer at saghs.members@saghs.org.au.
